Ms. Rupley is a shareholder attorney at Porter Law Group, Inc. Her practice focuses primarily on litigation, arbitration and mediation in the areas of construction law, including mechanics lien and stop payment claims, construction defects, delay issues, disgorgement actions, non-conforming goods, and other contract disputes on both private and public works projects; professional liability; insurance claims; surety law, including bond enforcement and defense; real estate law; unfair competition/unlawful business practices; labor and employment matters, including the representation of clients in wage and hour litigation, sexual harassment, and PAGA claims, as well as drafting and revising employee handbooks and commission agreements; and union related disputes, including trust fund contribution issues.
She also represents her clients in business transactions, including entity formation/governance/dissolution, buy-sell agreements, and intellectual property matters, including internet law and litigation. Ms. Rupley prior experience includes the defense of insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators in workers’ compensation matters, including 132a and serious and willful petitions.
Ms. Rupley is an experienced arbitrator and mediator. She volunteers her time on the dispute resolution panel for the Superior Court of California, County of El Dorado, and is a member of the Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada.
Ms. Rupley serves on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Chapter of Associated Subcontractors Alliance and is a member of the Construction Law Council for the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange. She frequently serves as a speaker at industry educational seminars and was named Associate Editor of the ADC Defense Comment Magazine. Ms. Rupley is admitted to practice before all federal district courts located in California, as well as all California state courts.
